Since CMS released the updated visitation guidance in November of 2021, CMS has provided additional clarifications about visitation in this Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).  

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) - Revised  March 10, 2022: Updated Nursing Home Guidance on Visitation, "Visitation is now allowed for all residents at all times."
Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) - November 24, 2021 Updated Long-term Care  Guidance.

Leaving the Faciltiy and Quarantine

Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) Guidance (3/39/21)  regarding infection prevention and control in nursing homes.  This guidance was updated on 2/2/2022.

Ombudsman Program Information

The Family Experience in Long-term Care during the COVID-19 visitation restrictions – a survey by the Office of the Kansas Long-term Care Ombudsman. Completed on 9/11/2020 

Ombudsmen resumed visited in April 2021: Due to health and safety concerns related to COVID-19 for residents, facility staff, and ombudsmen, the Kansas Long Term Care Ombudsman Program suspended in-person visits to residents in March 2020.
